Outside the Box

Picture
Picture
Outside the Box is a Middle School Science and Art Project  which seeks to introduce students in the Borrego Schools to Science and the Arts in enjoyable and creative "outside the box ways."   The Program is supported in part by generous donations from the Borrego Art Guild and the Borrego Civic Foundation . Most recently the generous donations have supported a refurbished sewing program at the Middle School .. Numerous local donors  also stepped in to provide  eight sewing machines  and trunks of fabrics and tools and supplies . Ann Powderly and other volunteers  have just completed a project in collaboration with ASES which leaves the middle school program supplied  with a full setup for ongoing sewing projects into the future.
A past project resulted in publication of "Expressive Arts Your Way" a workbook by Joya Granbery Hoyt, based on the Borrego  Springs Outside The Box  Middle School Science and Art Project.  Sponsored by the American Legion and the Women's Auxiliary  as a gift to the Borrego Springs Middle School  this book will make an inspiring present for children and  families of all ages .

Outside the Box looks forward to  continuing its focus on science and art  encouraging expanded programs in life skills  through home economics , shop and other training  for future occupations for Borrego's students .
